xThis vintage Rolex Submariner ref. 5513 from circa 1970 showcases the classic "feet first" dial, prized by collectors for its authentic period detail. Rolex introduced ref. 5513 around 1962 and it was in production until 1989. It was one of the longest continually produced references from the brand. Rolex initially used glossy dials in this model and swapped to matte dials around 1966. When Rolex went to the matte dial they also put the depth rating as "200m = 660ft" and these are known as "meters first" in the collecting community. Eventually Rolex would swap the depth rating to feet first around the early 1970s and have continued this trend to the modern offerings. The watch we have here has a "feet first" depth rating. One theory on this change is that Rolex wanted to boost sales in the United States, but to our knowledge Rolex has not made any definitive statements on this shift.
This example comes directly from the original owner who wore and enjoyed this watch for decades. He sent it in for service routinely and managed to hold on to the papers (serial number not written), Bucherer receipt, little green Rolex wallet and "Your Rolex" booklet. When examining the papers closely, we can see that the watch was purchased on August 28, 1974 and that corresponding date is on the receipt and guarantee. We can also see that the receipt and guarantee both have a corresponding inventory number, but no serial number. According to the receipt the watch originally cost 639 Swiss Francs.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
Shipping
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
